The Helper: A Woman of God

Then the Lord God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper who is just right for him.”  ~ Genesis 2:18

“Women are throwing away their goodness.”

Pop culture presents liberty to women as a willingness to give themselves indiscriminately to men outside of marriage. The truth is, like Eve, each woman is designed as a perfect fit for the man God has already prepared for her – made for the purpose of channeling God’s Holy Spirit in her marriage relationship. A woman functions as a helper, counselor, companion, nurturer, guide, and giver of life… among other things.

Women need to reclaim the purity and purpose they were created for. Wives are called to help their husbands – this is not a lowly call. There is grace and power in assisting another; and blessings abound when we operate within God’s plan.

Dear Helper, are you living by the Spirit? Do you allow the Holy Spirit to guide and teach you? Are you actively drawing your husband nearer to you, pointing him towards God and assisting him with his work?

In The Helper: A Woman of God, we explore how a wife is intended to model herself after the Spirit of God. When a woman allows herself to be guided by the Holy Spirit, her life will produce fruit and blessings that overflow into her marriage, her household and her community. A woman, as God built her to be, is equipped to love, support, nurture and comfort in her roles of helper, wife, and mother.
